Environmental Due Diligence
All those involved in a company transaction profit from Environmental Due Diligence.
Environmental Due Diligence (EDD) is a complex, process-oriented company analysis. It is part of comprehensive due diligence which is performed during M&A transactions or mergers and acquisitions of companies.
Our task during the performance of Environmental Due Diligence is the evaluation of current and future Environmental costs risks of the target object and the preparation of measures for risk control and minimization.
The study usually consists of three phases.
- Starting phase with a Desk due diligence or data evaluation in the data room,
- Phase 1 with interviews and plant tours and, if necessary,
- Phase 2 with technical and environmental analytical studies. If desired by customer, relevant US American ASTM standards for the compliance audit and report are selected for cross-border deals.
We determine and evaluate environmentally-induced costs and liability risks as well as market and site-specific risks. The results are presented in a comprehensive and clearly structured expert report and, if desired, documented with cost estimates.
